AVAX is a utility token issued by the decentralized cryptocurrency platform Avalanche in 2020. Avalanche is a groundbreaking decentralized consensus protocol sometimes abbreviated as AVA. Avalanche became the first smart contracts platform with the capability to confirm transactions in less than a second. The protocol is able to support the Ethereum development kit fully and enable millions of full block producers. The project attracted much attention in connection with the major problem of the Ethereum blockchain which is the speed of transactions. The popularity of the network is so high that a large number of transactions entail its frequent clogging. The speed of transactions processing offered by Avalanche is similar to Visa as it’s capable of processing 4500 TPS (some resources claim that this number equals 6500), while Ethereum is able to process 19 transactions a second only.Learn More →
AVAX is the native currency of blockchain platform Avalanche, which describes itself as “blazingly fast” and “eco-friendly”, and was recently dubbed an ‘Ethereum-killer’ blockchain by popular crypto news site CoinDesk.

One thing we personally like to do when considering the future potential of a cryptocurrency is to look behind the scenes and see how active the developers and marketing team behind a project really are.
On the surface, there are some great things to see from Avalanche:
These are some great numbers.
One thing that was a little bit surprising is that we’re half way into 2022 and their press page has only had a single update this year – literally from January 1st. For context, it was updated 10 times with press mentions in 2021.
You can’t complain about the activity on their blog however, with 8 updates for the month of June alone, covering Avalanche Bridge updates and new games launching on the platform.
Of course, with that said, what really matters is if they’re succeeding on their mission and have the interest of enough people who believe in it.
Like many cryptocurrencies, the price of AVAX has been on a downward trend for the last few months, but they might just have the brand and credibility to recover in a big way, if (when?) the market as a whole begins to grow again.
Predicting the price of cryptoassets so far into the future is an almost impossible task. This applies to Avalanche and any other cryptocurrency we have predictions for.
While many people are curious about our data here, right now we don't have any predictions for 2025, though we are considering updating our predictions algorithm to make forecasts that are further out. We would love your feedback, so if such a prediction is something you would like—even just for entertainment purposes—please let us know via Twitter or email.
For now we are sticking to short-term predictions in order to increase the accuracy of where we see an asset price heading.
The further out a date, the more likely it is that our prediction is inaccurate. While it would be fun to look at price predictions for 2030 or even 2050, we think that would be taking things a little bit too far.
